A rough and tough pick Jun 10, 2009
By C. Eidson This is a great pick at a great value. I easily tore through roots of old stumps, never feeling the tool was going to give at any point. It also worked right through some of our Missouri clay soil that was used as a gravel mound. When I purchased the pick it was a bit cheaper than the $44.68 price, but I think it would still be worth the current price.

Great tool for working in the yard Aug 10, 2011
By C Neil We bought this to replace an old one that the head kept coming off of. It is much better balanced and the handle is comfortable. Very happy with this item. I have used it to chop roots, remove unwanted grass and digg up an area for new planting. It seems to be really well made.

Great Zombie Killer! May 01, 2011

Upon receiving the Ames Pick, my adult sons asked me what I was going to do with it.
I told them "to kill Zombies, what else!!"
They looked at each other, looked back at me, then studied and admired the Ames Pick while nodding their heads in agreement.
This pick has great weight and balance.
That'll teach those Zombies!!

Ames True Temper Pick Aug 17, 2009
By Green Mama This Mattock worked very well over a 3 day trail building excursion. The blade is a bit thinner than comparable tools which allowed it to slice through the grass and brush a bit better. The handle seems to get dinged up since it sticks out more than other mattocks I've used, but it has shown no adverse effects yet.
