Bayou Classic SP10 Jul 29, 2010 The paint burns off after the first or second use, and smells horrible. If the wind is above 5MPH it can get frustrating. Other then that, it works great for the price.
beast of a stove Jul 15, 2010 use cooker to boil water camping and cook corn and large items. heats up great and into a boil under 8 mins.only issue on first use smell from paint burn off. would suggest to fire it up once before using to burn off smell. very stable base even with large pot on it i feel it would not be an issue.
High powered cooker! Jul 04, 2010 The Bayou Classis cooker performs as advertised. It will bring a 3 gal pot of water to a boil in app 14 minutes. Burner is well built and sturdy-control is easy to operate.
Bayou Classic HP Gas Cooker Jul 03, 2010 Great product at fair price. Best of all is the "quick as lightning" shipment: WE GOT IT THE NEXT DAY.
Thanks to Amazon !
For the price, it's a fantastic outdoor cooker. Jul 02, 2010 I bought this for two reasons:
1) If it's hot out, I'd rather not heat up the house.
2) I can't stand frying indoors. I don't like the odors and I don't want oil/grease in the house. We don't have a big outdoor vented hood in the kitchen. Now I'm able to fry outdoors much of the year.
I use cast iron cookware and with the on/off valve I'm able to regulate the heat quite nicely. I was expecting that this unit was only going to blast out a huge amount of heat. No so.
It's a very simple unit.
It's light-weight and very portable. The propane tank weighs far more that the cooker.
Despite what the instructions say, the big red valve is not adjustable.
The reason why I rated it 5 stars is price per performance. I'm not comparing this unit to more expensive units.
