B&D Lawn Center Jul 29, 2010 I am a 60+ year old 5' tall woman who loves doing lawn work. These tools are the best. I have old sets over 10 years old that still work. If you discharge the batteries occasionally they will work for many years. My husband wouldn't give up his heavy smelly gas tools until he had radiation for cancer and got weaker. Now he uses nothing but these. The sets with 2 batteries are the best so you can keep on working for long periods. Love them!
Black & Decker cordless lawncare Jul 26, 2010 I am very pleased with the lightness and strength of the Black & Decker 18-Volt Electric Lawncare products. I would have liked to know if a battery was included or not. The battery is easy to charge and change from one to the other. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience.
Very Useful! Jul 20, 2010 I too grow weary of lugging around cables and working with gasoline engines that claim to be an easy start but soon prove otherwise just as the commercials bandy . I did a great deal of research and amidst many different brands I looked at wind speed of the blower, claimed running time and ease of use. For a long time I pondered purchasing the Worx GT. It looks great, it sounds great however I know of nobody that owns the kit. After looking at price point and mulling over the various tidbits associated with the devices I opted to go with a brand that populates my garage. I've been very happy with the Black and Decker brand and until they prove me wrong I'll continue to be a fan.
What you get: A strong reliable weed eater. Follow the directions though and charge your batteries for the entire nine hours. So far it takes about three to four hours to recharge after the initial nine hour period. Speaking of batteries, you get two, 18volt. Both do the job just fine. Like the advertisements for this product suggest the blower is for small grass clippings, leaves and items easy to blow around. Don't expect to move clods of dirt or rocks, that is not what this little sweeper blower is for. It works as described and I am very pleased. Back to the weed eater, or weed whacker or whichever permutation you prefer. It works. I have about a half acre yard and it works just fine for my needs. If for some reason the job is intense and requires more battery I take a long break put the batteries on the charger, come back and finish the job-not a big deal. The hedge trimmer works well too, although don't expect to cut limbs with the thing, you'll be disappointed. I say all this because I know some of you are about power. That's fine, you keep using your loud, high maintenance gas-oil contraptions and I'll continue with my cordless 18v Black and Decker kit. Live and let live.
Final thought: This is a great product that makes yard work easy and manageable. I would recommend this product to everyone who wants a break from their cords and their highly flammable, not to mention ungreen machines.
Electric Jul 16, 2010 A great 3-pack. I primarily use the weed whacker and blower. Love the quiet provided by electricity, and the interchangable batteries. 1 battery is enough to take out the weeds around my entire yard. Have never been a fan of leaf blowers until now. Surprising power from a quiet electric blower. Automatic feeding string into trimmer works seemlessly. No regrets. Just need to get around hanging these up in the garage with the mounting kit.
Good for smaller homes & gardens Jul 15, 2010 I enjoyed the product(s) visually and ergonomically. They are light and easy to use. The battery charge is limited to about 20 minutes of useful work before the charge begins to fade. Fortunately, there are two batteries included. Recommend for small/medium lawn and garden areas.
