Great performer for SMALL tasks, Great price! Oct 04, 2010
By R. Sells
"Retiree-at-large"
The Bond Mini D-handle shovel is perfect for infrequent, light-duty work.
If you were ever in the military, think back to "boot camp." Remember your official "entrenching tool"? This is very similar, except it doesn't fold and collapse. :)
I use this Bond shovel for "working" the compost on a daily basis. It's strong and sturdy, and it never goes indoors. This is the 2nd one of these I've purchased, and I'm very satisfied with them. Again, both of these STAY outside, in the elements, in the compost pile. They are *not* treated with care and respect - and they're holding up and serving my needs beautifully. :)
I cannot imagine trying to do any serious work with this mini shovel, i.e., trying to dig a trench, plant shrubs, etc., would be a serious mistake unless you're about 4 feet in height or shorter! (The handle is very, very short in length.)
But if you need something to keep in your truck or your car to remove sand or mud, or anything similar, I'd highly recommend one of these shovels - without reservation!
As stated elsewhere in another review, this shovel is *not* telescopic. Neither Amazon nor the manufacturer claims that it is, so this certainly wasn't a surprise to me!
The handle is comfortable, the blade is very good and solid, and it's hard to beat a 5-year guarantee, right?
You won't be disappointed - go ahead and order one or two! :)

Great shovel for in the trunk Oct 12, 2011
By D. Grams Living somewhere know for earthquakes and mudslides I thought it would be smart to keep some supplies in the trunk of my car, just in case. I was considering a Gerber 30-000075 E-Tool Folding Spade with Serrated Blade but opted for this shovel instead. While not as novel as a folding entrenching tool I would be surprised if the LH015 didn't last way longer, and that's what really counts. Plus for 1/3 of the price I still have money left over for a few other emergency tools and rations.

So far so good. Oct 06, 2011
By Rodrigo6767 I purchased this to use as a beach shovel. It is light and seems durable. I have gone camping with it once and I was pleased.

Fab Gardening Tool! Jul 29, 2011
By Bonnie R. I bought this on the suggestion of another gardener and I'm very glad I did. My husband and I have used it a lot. For the small price we paid for it ($17), definitely a good investment. This shovel is a great size, since I am often finding my trowel inadequate for a task but the shovels we have are way too heavy and unwieldy for me. I also really like the fiberglass handle which makes it lighter while the handle also should not rust.

Great shovel for the beach Jul 06, 2011
By Honest and Anonymous After years of breaking cheap plastic shovels with wooden handles, I purchased this shovel for use at the beach. My only regret is that I didn't buy it years ago. It is perfect for digging in both dry and wet sand. Much easier than the cheap shovels sold for use at the beach. Better yet, I think it is safer around kids because the edges are not as sharp as the plastic ones I replaced. Using this shovel allowed me to move about 5 times as much sand in the same amount of time. I love it and plan to buy another.
