Bonsai with Tropicals: Some Things I Learned Along the Way

Lessons in Learning and Teaching... Growing Aspects... Problems and Pests... and Bonsai Stories are a few of the chapters in this book. Many of the author's suggestions are more practical than traditional. She tells where to find bargain tools and suggests simple objects to substitute for more elaborate ones. Mary also included an exceptional list of her favorite reference books.

Mary Miller's clear and unique style of teaching comes through in her writing. Throughout the book her easy humor compliments her zeal for bonsai.

4Good reading for bonsai enthusiasts  Jun 22, 2009
By A. E. Marcano Sr. "bonsainaut"
I met Mrs Miller a few years ago while she was at Tropical Bonsai in Homestead Fl. This book only reafirms what I caught during my visit, her vigor and enthusiasm in what she was working. Thanks for this book, short amusing anecdotes, while sharing her knowledge about bonsai with tropicals. Not many books written on tropicals. I recommend it.

4Great book for tropical bonsai  Sep 25, 2010
By Bonsai guy
Short and sweet, you can tell this book was written by someone with passion and experience. It is written in a less formal style which lends to easy readability and allows the author to infuse some quality bonsai humor. Deals with a decent list of specific techniques and provides some illustrations to help with understanding these. A great resource for information on growing ficus species both inside and outside of tropical climates as well as inside or outside. As of the date of this review this is probably one of the more interesting and informational books on bonsai trees available on the kindle store.
