I was so excited to finally find ceramic bricks with a charcoal flavoring for a gas grill. I had looked everywhere locally. Amazon had them all the time. This is why I ordered six bags! Thanks, Amazon.

Ceramic briquettes are impossible to find in stores these days. No problems with them so far. There were just enough for my average sized grill. People with large grill will need more than one bag.

4Great product, slightly short on quantity  Mar 16, 2012

I'm using these briquets in a Charbroil gas grill with a cooking surface of 25"x14". These are the cheap gas grills you buy at Wal-Mart for $100, so nothing special here. I used to have lavarocks on the flame grate in the grill and was moderately satisfied with them. These briquets look to be a nice upgrade.

Why are these better for lavarocks for me? Well, they are much lower profile when laid flat, which will keep the coals farther away from your food when cooking. This is good because when fat drips down onto the briquets, you reduce the likelihood that a flame will jump up and burn your food. This used to happen ALL the time with the lavarocks, and is a primary reason why I got rid of them.

So functionally these briquets are great. My only grind here is that there isn't quite enough of them in this bag to cover an average sized grill. I could only cover about 80% of the bottom flame grate with the full quantity in the bag - which is disappointing. Laying the briquets flat in a square array helps maximize the covered surface area, which is what I'm doing. I'll probably order a second bag in the future if these continue to be as good as they are initially.
