Save your money. Nov 23, 2009
By R. Collins I bought my Char Broil Quantum Grill planning on converting it to natural gas. I read that you could do the conversion yourself easily. I found directions on the internet on how to drill out the gas jets. I'm a do-it-yourself person but this didn't sound like a great idea. So I bought this conversion kit. It was easy to install and it works fine that gets it 3 stars. Why only 3 stars?
Here's what's in the kit: a gas hose with quick connect, a wrench, decorative valve bezels and directions. It turns out that the Char Broil Quantum "dual fuel" grills are built for natural gas and they add little fittings to convert them to propane. You lift out the burners, use the wrench to remove the little brass fittings, put the burners back on and hook up the gas hose. Done. I could have visited my local hardware store and done it myself safely for about $10.
Don't get me wrong, I love the grill and the kit works fine but - save your money.

Complete & Easy DIY Charbroil Conversion Jul 05, 2010
By J. Schulte

All Parts Included, Easy To Read & Follow Bilingual Book, even for technically challenged guys like me, Worked Immediately. Best price I found on the web, & fast shipping. Got this specific grill, get this kit. Only problem I had was with the setup on my house. Installer had put in 5/8 tube on outside gas valve, where conversion kit was 1/2 inch, so I needed to add stepdown tube to make it fit. probable gas guys screw-up, like several on our house. Cost couple bucks...

Worked like a champ. Aug 10, 2009

Takes about ten minutes to install. You'll want a ball valve/nipple for the house "stub" on the quick connect side (optional but recommended). I love it. No more propane tanks. I have a Designer Series grill from Charbroil.

Works for multiple models of charbroil commercial grills Mar 13, 2012
By Tim B. Although this kit wasn't listed as supporting my 4 burner charbroil commercial grill (bought at Lowe's), it is compatible with that model.
This kit comes with 6 instead of 5 knob dial covers, and that is the only difference. I just didn't use the extra one on my 4 burner + sideburner model.
Installation of the valve to your house takes a while, but a 3/8" NPT quick disconnect (included) makes it simple. Be sure to purchase a shut off valve if you don't have one already installed. Gas shut off valves are labeled with a 'G'. Water shutoff valves are not designed for natural gas. Yellow teflon tape works well, it is designed for natural gas connections.
Then you just remove all of the reduction valve fittings installed in the 4 burners and side burner, put everything back together, swap out the propane hose for the natural gas hose, connect it to the house and you are ready to go.

Char-Broil Natural Gas Conversion Kit Jun 18, 2011
By sharon warren I bought this with a dual fuel Char-Broil gas grill. It had great instructions (the pictures were very helpful) and my husband and I were able to hook it up in a snap. It loss one star because the coloration of the burner bezels, they were made with dull life less metal (they look cheap). We were instructed to use the ones in the kit (they have the words natural gas printed on them), but they are not as nice as the ones that came with the grill. I don't think it would hurt if you just left the ones that came with the grill in place.
