Does not hold up well in cold Jan 15, 2006
By coldweathergriller We purchased this grill cover with our grill last summer. It is attactive and fits our Charbroil smoker grill with smoker box very well. However, it faded considerably more than expected with the summer sun and it has not held up well in the cold weather. The material is very brittle and cracked and split when we took the cover off to grill on a 40 degree day. I'm now searching for another cover to fit our grill and will not purchase this one again.

Lousy cover for a great grill Mar 25, 2007
By F. Quan You'd think that as good as a Char-Griller is that the company would make a cover that's better that this. This is a total waste of money. You're better off getting a large tarp to cover the grill. At least a tarp won't tear through and fade as quickly as this cover. If I could give this a lower number, I would.

Not durable May 18, 2008

I agree with everyone else: this cover isn't durable at all. It lasted 6 months for me in relatively mild weather before it got a massive tear. I bought Mr. Bar-B-Q Platinum Prestige Large Grill Cover as a replacement, and while it doesn't fit as snugly, it works fine with a bungee cord securing it and is worlds more durable.

Char Griller Cover 5555 Feb 19, 2008
By K. Avery

This cover is not one which will last several seasons, especially if you live in an area where it snows. I have purchased a new cover every year for the past three years, but for only $20 I can't see complaining. A canvas cover [if one were made for the Char-Griller Pro] would cost at least three times that [if not more], and would succumb within three years to the weather & UV light as well. I have not yet found a canvas cover for the Char Griller Pro, so this vinyl one seems to be the only option. My grill stays on my back patio, and is therefore exposed to the sun, rain, snow and wind. This cover will fade due to UV exposure, and it will tear especially in strong winds. For the price, it's better than using no cover at all! If you have the option of taking your grill into a covered porch, patio, or garage, I suspect this cover would last a bit longer.

May hold up in warmer climates, but not in Canada Apr 01, 2007
By Matthew Buckley-Golder

It looked nice at first, but, as many other reviewers have mentioned, it doesn't take long for this cover to shown signs of wear after doing little other than just sitting on the BBQ for a few months. Mine is almost [...] now and is faded and torn along almost all of the seams. It was torn on one corner after less than a year (after the winter).
Perhaps it will be OK in warmer climates, but it doesn't seem to survive a southern Canadian winter. The tearing comes after the winter (under its own weight), while the fading occurs year-round.
