4Great smoke flavor  Jun 28, 2010
By Cookbook Gal "Cookbook Gal"
A little pricey, but a better price through Amazon than in my local stores. I smoked a turkey with this, to rave reviews - excellent smoke flavor and aroma. When I would take the turkey out of the refrigerator, the scent would permeate the entire kitchen, and everyone I served it to thought it was fantastic.

5Deep red rings  Sep 14, 2009
By K. Blackman "kB"
Ok I don't really shop around much for variations of some products. I tend to find something, like it and stick with it. These Charbroil Mesquite chips are really good. The flavor is intense and the meats/poultry gets that nice deep pink/red color that's the quest of Q lovers. The packs are handy for the occasional smoke that I do (don't have time for more). I usually soak in warm water for 10 minutes to get them in the smoker quickly. My smoker is the home made variety of aluminium foil packs and they last for about an hour. They work surprisingly well for grilling directly when I need the smoke flavor without the wait. I just add a handful in the packet with another handful directly over the lava rocks for lots of smoke in a short time.

5Makes great smoker chicken!  Feb 11, 2008

We have a "Great Outdoors" gas smoker, and we use these chips whenever we smoke whole chickens. Great flavor, what else can I say?!?

5Very strong flavor  Oct 24, 2011
By Tailgater
I have never used wood chips before and I know I like mesquite so I decided to give it a try. I cook a pork tenderloin and used a smoker pipe under the grids. To my surprise, the flavor was so strong it was almost overwheling. I enjoyed the pork no the less but I certainly learned a lot from that first try.

The flavor is strong so be warned but enjoy your foods!

3VERY STRONG wood smoke chip.  Jul 26, 2011
By fredaevans
Good chips, but a LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! An hour of smoke (real smoker) will over whelm almost any meat. Mix this into a 1 to 3 ratio with a lighter wood like Apple or Cherry. Don't recommend mixing this with Hickory chips; too strong a smoke.
