Coleman 9949-750 Road Trip Grill LXE, Red

It's even easier to transport, and quicker and easier to set up at a tailgate party, campsite or any other location where fun, food and friends get together. Like the original RoadTrip Grill, the LXE features authentic open flame grilling, two powerful burners that are fully adjustable, electronic ignition and uncommon cooking versatility thanks to mix-and-match cooking surface options. However, a cleverly designed new stand distinguishes the LXE model from its predecessor. The X-shaped chassis is wheeled for easy maneuvering in both the upright and collapsed-for-transport positions. It sets up quickly and provides excellent stability for cooking, thanks to the simplicity of the scissor-like leg and frame design. Two side tables integrated into the unit slide out for grilling and cooking duties, then retract under the unit in a moment's motion for travel and storage. Because the grill is affixed to the stand and the lid features a locking mechanism, the unit is secure and steady while towing it to and from a vehicle using a convenient pull handle. The Coleman Roadtrip Grill LXE is designed to be used completely assembled. If table top use is desired - simply hand remove the 4 plastic cap screws and start cooking! The Roadtrip Grill LXE is easy to assemble - Push on wheels and insert plastic handle and it is ready to use! New tool holders and stainless steel carry handles added for convenience. The LXE fits into most auto trunks/SUV's.

4Amazon's Shipping Policy  Sep 08, 2010
I ordered a Coleman Road Trip Grill on September 1st 2010. I chose Super Saver Shipping. Along with the grill I ordered a Road Trip Grill Cover, Iron Griddle, Wheeled Carry Case, and a high-pressure propane hose and adapter. My confirmation e-mail said my items are in stock and shipping date will be September 7th and delivery estimate will be sometime around the 14th of September. My problem with this statement was "Why does it take so long (from the 1st to the 7th) to get the "in stock" items into the hands of the shipping company"? I called Amazon and only receive a quote of what the "company policy" is and no real answer as to why it takes so long to get it out of the stock room and into the hands of the shipping company.

GOOD NEWS though ... I received the Grill on the 4th and the rest of the order on the 7th. Very fast shipping and hats off to Amazons shipping department and lumps of coal to the customer service department that gave me the impression that they didn't care what I thought.

Note: Products arrived in perfect condition. I have yet to try the grill and use the other items but they are in good physical condition.

5This is a great convertable grill  Sep 06, 2010
I bought this grill one month ago and used it twice since. I have never seen a similar product in market, which is self-standing and can also fit in my compact car trunk.

5One hot grill  Aug 27, 2010
This grill gets very hot and burns for a long time on a small canister of propane. Far exceeds expectations. Con is that you can't move it while its standing or it will collapse and its pretty big - which you don't realize until your packing your car for a camping trip. But performance is outstanding.

4My notes after reading all of the reviews  Aug 25, 2010
I've had my grill for about a month now and have used it 2-3 times each week. I'm happy with it overall. I cook for one and it is easy to use. A couple things I was surprised about when I got the grill. I was expecting a burner that was U-shaped. Instead, it is two round burners. That's not a problem just unexpected. Yes, I bought the grate for using pots on the grill but I hadn't put it together that it would be round burners. Also, because the pictures aren't big, I didn't realize that the meat drips onto a stainless steel area that doesn't come out. I had expected more of a removable fixture. Foil will work if you are compulsive. As mentioned before, the grilling grates have a 5" diameter solid spot with about 4" of grate around it. Not bad, just something you get used to.

If I had been looking for a barbecue grill and no other use, I wouldn't have purchased it. But I love it's flexibility. It's great for camping too. I don't have to bring a stove because this takes the place of a two burner stove in the morning and a grill in the evening (or half and half ) in the evening. It's easy to use (no melting problems that I've heard about) and I thought I'd have to get a big tank of gas for it. I've been getting a lot of use out of those little bottles. And my only "problem" is that I hate cleanup. The grates all go in the dishwasher (great). But the stainless steel bottom just isn't so shiny anymore. I don't really care. All in all, it's really a multi-use item. I've recommended it to friends who are looking for that. And I glad I made the purchase.

4Coleman grill  Aug 13, 2010
I love this grill the only problems for me were the wheels. I had to replace them with more sturdy wheels because the other ones bent in (hollow plastic).
