Fiskars garden trowel Sep 29, 2007
By L. Jordan

Finally a durable garden trowel for working the hard clay in my garden. I have bent/broken any number of trowels working the garden. This trowel is up to the task of being a work horse in the garden - sturdy and dependable - and easy to grip.

Not a durable Trowel Nov 06, 2011
By Mark Twain For the first week, I loved this little shovel. Then, my husband used it to dig a small hole in regular soil and it snapped in two.

Perfect addition to any gardening tool set Jul 07, 2008

I've had my share of trowels over the years, and my main complaint was that they were basically all too small. Sometimes you just need a bigger shovel, to either dig wider or deeper, and the 'regular' ones just don't cut it. Enter Fiskars Big Grip. I saw this in Target and grabbed it immediately; I knew it was simply something I had to have, being a hard core gardener. I haven't had a job that this has been too small for yet, always planting and moving plants. It wouldn't be too handy if needing to move or plant something large, when a full size shovel is necessary, but every gardening tool set needs this trowel. Well made & sturdy, definitely one of my best gardening supply purchases...

Love these Big Grip tools May 08, 2009
By Laura L. Larsen I wish they had more of these; I hope they start offering others, such as a weeder, mattock, and the like.
I have the cultivator and this trowel (which is actually more of a scoop; it has a very wide, open blade, and is best used for moving large amounts of material, such as digging a transplanting hole for a 1gal or so plant, or for scooping garden soil or planting mix from the bag).
I like it a lot. It's got a good, soft grip, and my hands don't cramp up after using it for a long period of time. They also seem to be very well made, strong tools. The blade is more of a dull metallic color (not shiny) which I like a lot.
Finally, the tag it comes with comes on a nice, nylon, braided cord; I ripped the tag off and kept the cord as it's great for hanging the scoop up when I'm done using it!

Handle Broke Off Dec 20, 2011
By D. Hamman I enjoyed using the big grip trowel before mine broke. The large scoop size was nice and it was comfortable to use. Unfortunately, mine snapped in half where the trowel meets the handle the first year I had it. Wish it were more durable.
