All around a great buy! Jul 24, 2010 Just about indestructible, practical, great for a carry on in your wheeler or just about anywhere you wanna take it!
Best Axe Ever Jul 24, 2010 This is the lightest axe I've ever held, and the most natural-feeling to swing I've ever swung. It's so light it takes hardly any effort for each swing, and I find the axe does most of the work. The 28" handle feels the perfect length to balance leverage and accuracy, and does not feel too short in the slightest (I'm six feet tall, and my 6'5" brother doesn't think it feels to short, either).
It comes sharp already, but a few swipes through the Fiskars axe sharpener (recommended) and it's razor sharp -- what's more, it stays that way after a full day's work. The handle feels solid, and I believe the "unbreakable" claim. I gave it a few good whacks (overshot the target) and the handle appears completely unaffected. This axe isn't just for chopping, either -- as long as logs are well-seasoned and less than about a dozen inches in diameter, this CHOPPING axe splits them like melons!
I find the plastic case that comes with it rather bulky and awkward, so I made my own leather sheath for it. But that's not really a complaint -- it's an opportunity to personalize the axe!
Buy it and you'll be addicted to chopping wood -- I couldn't sleep for three days after using it for the first time because I wanted to go out and use it again so badly! Best Axe I've EVER used.
Great Axe for Boy Scouts Jun 28, 2010 This axe kept the Boy Scouts "Entertained" for hours at camp. You would have thought it was a PlayStation 3! Holds an edge very well and is easier to use than the heavy splitting wedge for "side" chopping.

Best Camping Axe Ever! Jun 14, 2010 Light, strong, and indestructible to everything accept fire. I previously had one of these axes and it lasted for years; until it mistakenly got thrown in the camp fire with the log it was wedged into. I tried a couple of other axes and none compared to the Fiskars lack of weight and sharpness. It cuts thru an oak tree like it's made of balsa wood and you never have to worry about the handle splintering.
Fiskar axe Apr 28, 2010 Purchased the axe for cutting birch wood and it has been exceelent for the task.
