4Great pruners  Feb 24, 2008
By Beth
These pruners are both a great value and a great product. They are light weight, making them easy to carry around while doing yard work. They have a double bonus of no pinch points. I would recommend these pruners to anyone who like anvil pruners.

5good basic pruner  Jun 29, 2008
By R. Smith
I bought this item several years ago, sold as the True Value Hardware brand, but obviously an unmarked Fiskars item. It fits well in a pants pocket, the little latch can be operated one-handed, never has gotten dull, never has rusted, never has broken, cuts almost anything up to 1/2".
And it has the anvil pruner advantage of not slipping by or around what you're cutting.
June 2011: still as described above!!!

4Basic pruner  Nov 12, 2009
By A. Katoch
We have been using this pruner for a few months now and its a good basic pruner, lightweight, handy and very reasonably priced. The only thing I'm not sure about is the locking mechanism which seems a little flimsy but again I've been using this for a few months and it has held up.

5Best I've ever used in 22 years of professional landscape work  Nov 11, 2010
By Kenneth Lavoie III "www.centralmaineweb.com"
I've used many different pruners, mostly expensive models with replaceable blades, parts, etc. But these seemingly cheap plastic homeowner type pruners are my FIRST CHOICE as a full time professional landscaper. They cut beautifully, work easily, and although you might be able to find replacement blades, I just throw them away when they start to wear. I order them 20-30 pair at a time and they last me 2 years at least. I maybe go through 3 pair per year and we do some SERIOUS pruning. I abuse them, use them 90% of the time for tasks which are beyond their intended use and they still work great. Unless you're pruning 6-8 hours per day, I wouldn't consider any other product.

5Great pruners  Aug 29, 2011

I agree with all the comments here. These are excellent pruners at any price -- light, easy to use, essentially disposable when they get worn out. I've worn out probably two dozen pairs pruning our orchard. They are my favorite type, way ahead of more expensive pruners. However, the picture Amazon is showing today is not correct. The model with two steel blades is the bypass pruner. The anvil pruner has one metal blade and one plastic blade. If you want two metal blades, order the bypass.
