Pole came apart and easily jams Dec 12, 2007
By dmeister The shear jams easily and is difficult to free once it jams.
The pole clamp is poorly designed. It clamps to the outer telescoping tube instead of being glued, which allows the outer tube to easily separate from the clamp because the outer telescoping tube is thin and will not withstand much clamping force and the clamp is made from slick plastic.
I spent so much time freeing jams and trying to keep the pole together that I discarded it after three uses. It was not worth the frustration.
Fiskars may make good scissors but they make a lousy pole saw.

Easily breakable toy, not up for the job Aug 29, 2010
By Damon My wife picked up one of these at a big box hardware store, it was pretty much the only model available. We got about two hours out of it before it broke. We weren't cutting steel pipe with this thing, we were trimming branches off a living, flexible tree. The tool is designed to cut branches about one inch in diameter (you can't fit a larger branch between the jaws). I was trying to cut a branch less than an inch thick and instead of shearing the wood, the fiberglass pole shattered at the business end. I'm glad the break didn't occur closer to my hands or face.
The rope attached to the clipper is slightly elastic. Because it stretches when pulled, it takes more effort than should be necessary to cut branches. The telescoping pole doesn't lock well, so the tool will sometimes change length while you're using it.

Great pruner for the price Dec 13, 2007
By JC I found that this is a great pruner for the price. If you are not able to prune, the saw takes minimal effort.
Used and abused Jan 15, 2012
By scot My family and friends have used the cr*p out of this pruner. At least 10 years without a hitch..I think the problem people are having with it coming apart is,you need to adjust the cam lock before the first use.It is a little loose from the factory.Once adjusted correctly it never needs it again and will hold tight always. The saw blade is still as sharp as new(saws 5-6" branches with ease) and the pruner cutter still cuts through up to 1 1/2 " branches like butter, just give it a good hard snap on the cord.My tiny 5-2" wife uses it all the time . My advice is after you've bought you're own ,hide it because everyone will want to borrow it.Yes it is that nice and easy to use.
lost part Dec 14, 2011
By Raymond C. Morris
"Ray Morris"
I love the pruner but the plug (stopper) at the bottom of the handle/pole came out and is lost. It's the thing on the end of the handle that keeps the telescoping inter-pole (white) from moving as you use the pruner. Now, the entire pruner is useless because I can't find a replacement for this relatively minor part. Any help would be appreciated.
