Best Lopper Period Mar 31, 2009
By C. Torrillo
"Kring"
I've used my share of loppers, this is a nice lightweight unit with the newest version of teh PowerGear that doesn't require it to open 180 degrees. It's a bit more expensive then the average, but you get a great company, product, warranty. It's a great deal.

Great Tool Mar 29, 2011
By Hootie This Lopper is a great tool. I purchased my first pair about a month ago and liked it so well that I purchased another pair as a gift for my brother-in-law. He cuts more wood in one year then most people could burn in a life time and absolutly loves this tool. I've been using mine to clean up the fallen trees on my farm. After an ice storm we had many trees down on the edges of the fields which must be removed before planting. Last fall I purchased a Corona 32 in Super-Duty Bypass Lopper, these have a 3 in capacity. However, it takes a lot of force to use them when the branch is 2 in or larger. I'm no small guy 6 foot and 235 pounds and it is all I can do to cut with the Corona. I purchased the Fiskars for my wife to use around the house as the Coronas where just to heavy and took to much muscle for her to use. I hoped the Powergear action would be easier for her to use. Fiskars has a reel winner with these. Cutting 2 in plus branches is so easy you wouldn't believe it. In addition I've always preferred anvil loppes over bypass loppers. With bypass loppers, like scissors, the blades must have good contact with each other or they don't cut well. If you get them stuck and who doesn't, one twist and the blads are bent. (Note: You should never twist loppers side to side but rock them back and forth to get them unstuck.) Anvil loppers work even if the blade gets bent a little as the blade cuts against the anvil like a knife against a cutting board. The one draw back to this is you can't cut as close to the tree, maybe 1/2 in at best. Another nice thing about the Fiskars is that you can remove the blade to sharpen or replacement. P.S. My wife doesn't use these very much as I've always got them with me. Looks like it's time to buy anothe pair.

Fiskars PowerGear 27-Inch Anvil Lopper #96316965 Aug 08, 2008
By spooky cuts dead branchs very well, very stiff jaw, and you don't have to spread you arms so wide comparing to previous power gear, a solid product.

Fiskars Anvil Lopper Jun 15, 2010
By MAJA The good stuff - loppers are made with the great Fiskars quality and design.
So-so stuff - they are a bit heavier that we expected and not as well balance as some of the other Fiskars tools that we used. We ended up sending them back with no problem (thanks Amazon!) and purchased a smaller/lighter bypass pruning set.
Bottom line - if you need to clean up some serious deadwood or lots and lots of pruning, go for these loppers. They are well built and should work well for you.

Great product Jul 13, 2010
By Pamela Stewart This are amazing Loppers! I was able to easily cut through 3" sticks. The loppers are well made and extremely easy to use requiring very little strength. I highly recommend them.
