IF I CAN RATE IT WITH A ZERO I WOULD Apr 24, 2009
By J. Carrion

THIS HOSE AFTER SETTING IT UP ALL ALONG MY GARDEN PATH WAS FINE FOR TWO WEEKS OR SO -- AFTER THAT, IT SPRANG UP HOLES MUCH CLOSER TO THE SPIGOT AND I NOW HAVE A LOT OF WASTED WATER NOWHERE NEAR MY FLOWERS. I ALSO NOTICED THAT IT STARTS SPRINGING NEW HOLES ALL OVER THE PLACE AND IT MAKES MORE OF A MESS. THIS IS REALLY JUNK. DO NOT BUY.

Poor construction, far too fragile. Oct 22, 2009
By Mel D. There's a new version of this hose. Changed are the crimped hose ends which now provide proper stress relief. Also changed is the material the hose is made from which is now dark green and opaque. Gilmour must have had many failures with the old design.
This is a review of the older clear green vinyl design (avoid like the plague!)
Warning: you must prefix this type of sprinkler hose with a hose pressure regulator otherwise the orifices may widen resulting in a pressure loss that causes the hose not to function.
Pros:
- spray pattern is nice (while it lasts). Far superior to the other two sprinkler hoses I tried out.
- free replacement policy (lifetime guarantee). You're gonna need it!
Cons:
- terrible tech support - emails completely ignored (phone them to arrange replacement to get the mailing address)
- 3 channel design creates a major stress fracture where the hose widens to one channel to fit onto hose coupler. The vinyl always tears in this spot and then the hose is useless.
- the hose is very stiff and hard to lay out in a straight line stripe side up
- equally hard to wind up and store (it needs to include a plastic winding reel)
1/5 stars is really too generous. Gilmour products in general are great but the old version of this hose which is still on store shelves is a total flop.

Keeps splitting Sep 25, 2008
By JZ1

I'm on a well and the water pressure isn't all that high. However, this hose split open near the end within a week. I applied a clamp just before the split and continued to use the hose. This worked fine until a large hole developed on the opposite end, and yet another next to it.

Does not last Jan 30, 2009
By D. R. Sauerzopf This hose only lasted a month. I had it hooked up with the timer and flow control. After 1 month it started to burst. Spent more money on duct tape then the hose.

Gilmour 3 tube sprinkler & soaker Jan 06, 2009
By Jade I would NOT buy this again. I got 3 of them and they all got big holes in them and sprayed water everywhere. Not happy!
