Better than expected.. Sep 25, 2008

While this sprinkler needs sufficent water pressure to function properly, and I've only had it for 2-3 weeks, for the price it is a quality product that is exceedingly better than the $30+ garbage that you will find in Home Depot or Sears. Covers a hude radius. Customer service was excellent, for when I emailed them to try to determine the difference between this model and the model 999TP, they emailed me back the same day and advised that the TP is the same product but is sold to retailers in packages of 6. After reading the negative reviews on the TP model about feet bending, the sprinkler collapsing and disintegrating the first time they used it, I spent the extra $10 to get a second TD1 model, but cannot imagine that happening to either model, even if there is a difference. My only complaint is that the threads on the plastic coupler where you attach the hose can be easily stripped by the metal male end of the hose, so either avoid overtightening the hose or buy a plastic adapter with a shoutoff valve for $3, the shut-off valve on the adapter comes in handy when you have to move it. A lifetime replacement guarantee can't hurt, either.

plant saver Jul 17, 2008
By D. J. Nutting This sprinkler was purchased for my vegetable garden. It does well as long as there is not more than 100 ft of hose and if it is very level. I have not had success adjusting the spray to a more of a mist. But when working properly it can cover a large area quickly.

Very Good Wide Area Sprinkler Aug 06, 2010
By Mike Good quality product. The coupler however is plastic and most garden hoses have brass couplers. Not a good match. Great care needs to be taken so as not to strip the plastic coupler threads on the sprinkler.

Solid well built and user friendly Tripod Sprinkler Oct 11, 2009
By Roger Voelker I saw a number of products on Amazon.com and read the reviews on them. Most claimed that it was stable, did not fall over, and was working well over many years. That was what I wanted. It arrived within 3 days. I tried it out and it was perfect. Should be good for many years. Needs a rubber hose washer where it connects to the hose and does not leak.

Gilmour Extra Large Sprinkler Sep 14, 2009

Great coverage and a good design. The tripod adjusts and the spray is adjustable. The coverage is very good. I'm using mine through almost 200 feet of 5/8" hose and it functions very well. I should point out that I have lots of water pressure. All in all, compared to the major manufacturer of this type of sprinkler head, it's a steal when compared to their top dog and it has more coverage.
