4Decent for the price but go with the aluminum instead  Mar 30, 2009
By javajunki "javajunki"
I needed a few of these and wasn't really sure which to buy - the plastic one, the brass one or the aluminum one. Sometimes the gaskets and other little parts make more difference than the construction of the main item. In any case, this item performs well and is priced 1/3 less than the other options...it appears sufficient and presents no real problems other than the smaller dials and somewhat cheap feeling plastic. Hook-up is easy, no leaks, works as advertised. The little knobs are a bit unconfortable and I suspect the aluminum will last the longest...given the choice I'd go with the higher priced aluminum for sure. It doesn't rust or corrode, Is of a seemingly better quality throughout. Still, the price was right for this item.

5Nice Manifold  Apr 28, 2009
By Gene Friedman
I used this on my outdoor hose outlet and it works fine. No leaks.
The water valves are ball type and the large valve handles are very easy to control. The major considerations to make before buying this is to ask yourself if you are going to keep removing and reattaching hoses and also if there is any chance of rough handling (ie hard tugging at fully extended hoses, etc..). If the answer is yes to any of the above then I'd recommend a brass or aluminum set. And don't force hoses on as you are likely to cross thread them - just go easy and you'll be fine.

4Works great just remember it's plastic  Jul 10, 2010
By Mike
I was in need of four outlets on my faucet. Installed this manifold on the driveway side of the house. I have two timers (both gilmours) one for the front of the house and one for the back. The other two outlets have hose reels on them. Gets used daily. Works very well. The reason I like this manifold is the full flow outlets(large openings in the swivel ball gives me max flow). Just remember it's plastic. A little TLC and common sense and you might get a few seasons out of it.
I have had good luck with the Gilmour products. Will keep on buying their products

4Sometimes plastic is better  Aug 01, 2010
By G. Deutsch
I have gone through a good number of these type of "full flow" manifolds over the years (sometimes under the Craftsman name), mostly because I have waited too long into the colder months to remove them and sometimes did not remove them at all. In the case of the aluminum version I have attempted to leave some on through the whole year, with the same result of leaks developing despite having shut the water pressure off and drained to the extent possible. I decided that the cast metal ones had more problems in the long run - mainly due to substantial corrosion and mineral depositing. In my case the large diameter valves and full flow capability are important so I have stuck with these models despite the fact solid brass may be better. Too bad they don't make a full flow brass version of this.

4Good Hose Manifold  Oct 01, 2010
By Summer Campr
I use one of the Gilmour Full Flow Poly 4 way connectors with my RV. Well built and if water volume/flow is important to you, this unit does not restrict the flow like other ball valve type shut-offs. The diameter of the ball valve opening is the same as the outlet.
