it's a great quick fix-it item, but one has to be carefull and do not overtightnen the screws. They snap off the threads and then the coupling is unusable. In higher quality couplers all parts are made of metal (brass). Of course, metal is much more durable and reliable.

I originally bought some cheap connectors at Home Depot. Those proved to be worthless compared to the Gilmour Set. I used them for a hose attachment on my basement slop sink. There is no leaking with this set. Highly recommended.
