works as it is supposed to Feb 09, 2011
By Bruce M. Westrate the nozzle works just like it is supposed to.The spray pattern is nicely symmetrical and evenly progressive as you press on the lever. It is all plastic, but seems to be quite sturdy, none the less.
Great Nozzle May 14, 2012

This is fairly light but is strongly built. Any metal components are marine grade Stainless steel. I replaced the nozzle on my salt water wash down on my offshore boat. The old nozzle on the end of the coiled hose fell to pieces after a couple of years of moderate use. I hope that this one will last a lot longer still. The threaded end on the nozzle is useful for attaching to wash down brushes with through water and detergent (available Walmart RV section) - thoroughly recommended also.
Salt water friendly Oct 02, 2011
By L. Wallen This nozzle worked well and was reported as having only plastic and a stainless steel spring parts. This should give it a long life when used at my boat which is kept in the salt water, however time will tell. The only thing wrong with the nozzle is a rubber protector on the threaded spray end. This is important for boat useage; the threads need protection as does the boat cabin and deck areas, when the nozzle is set down or accidently dropped.
Gilmour salt water marine nozzle Jun 04, 2011

I've had this on a hose sitting below decks on my boat for several years now and so far so good. I really like Gilmour products. They are made in USA and usually last and last. The non marine nozzle that this #474s replaced was in service about six or so years before I replaced it with this one. It is doing garden duty now somewhat cosmetically the worse for continuous salt air exposure but still working....
Did I mention that most, if not all of the gilmour, have hose thread on the business end of the nozzle so you can use it to connect to another hose and control the flow. I use that feature by attaching them to engine flush hoses.
