5This light has many uses for me.  Nov 20, 2007

I don't own a BBQ but I purchased this to have light available for food preparation in my kitchen during a blackout (power failure). The two magnets in the base seem very strong and hold it FIRMLY on many surfaces I have tested -- gas range, sink, refrigerator, wire shelving, bathroom medicine cabinet, metal door jamb, and also the shaft of a torchiere lamp (which would be otherwise useless during a blackout).

I now use the C-clamp to hold it, sort of permanently (until the next blackout :-), on a work table to give me extra task lighting when needed.

The batteries recently wore out (after several months of intermittent usage) and they were easy to replace -- no difficult/tricky latches or maneuvers to wrestle with. I like it so much I am buying more for myself and a friend.

Too bad this product appears to be discontinued, it's a fantastic gadget: extremely high quality and extremely affordable.
