4Border Edger is not a Lawn Edger  Jun 16, 2009
By the freds
This border edger is not intended to be a lawn edger. Please make sure you are buying the correct tool for the job. This attachment does a wonderful job of cutting a border between your lawn and landscaping. I also use it to make that "first cut" on the lawn edging to dig out the dirt that accumulates over the winter so I can use my trimmer to edge the yard. The blade does not spin fast enough to actually cut grass/weeds in your lawn edging along sidewalks etc...

1Junk stay away  Jul 18, 2008
By William Mcmurrey
I wish I had read the one review on this item, I wouldn't have purchased it. It doesn't cut a clean edge. It is more of an edge comber. An edger that doesn't edge is not an edger. The tiller doesn't spin the blade fast enough to make it cut the long grass at the edges of my lawn. I even sharpened the blades hopping it would work better, it didn't. I am so surprised that Mantis actually sells this item. I can't believe anyone would be happy with its performance. The tool is made beautifully, it just doesn't work. Buy an edger, you will be miles ahead. POOR PRODUCT.

4Does what it says.  Sep 15, 2009
By C. A. Gianopoulos "ChefGus"
I recently purchased the Mantis Tiller Border Edger and to those who said this is not worth the money I disagree. It does what it says it does, make a border and works as an edger. However if you want to make a straight edge that is deeper and cuts through the weeds replace the cutter wheel with the regular blade and leave the wheel on and follow the edge you cut first you will get a nice straight line with the weeds dug up. So all I can say is that it worked for me.

1Save your money: use a hoe.  Jun 18, 2007
By Opera-rater "Christopher"
This is the WORST designed mechanism I have ever tried to use. It works fine if what you are edging is on mirror-flat ground, and what you want to edge is a straight line. Otherwise it is completely useless: will not corner, comes out of the ground on the one hand, and digs a deep trench on the other. I used mine for about 15 minutes today, and I'm quite sure it will be the last time.

Gonna put it up for sale on Ebay!

1Border edger is junk  Nov 11, 2008
By Jody L. Leonard
The Mantis tiller is a fine machine, but the edger attatchment blade is poorly made. I've used it to edge behind the curb in my front yard to keep the grass from growing over the curb. The blades become bent and then the tiller will "bounce" or buck up into the air. You have to turn the Mantis off and take a pair of vise grips to straighten the blades back into alignment. Repeat this process several times and the tips of the blades break off. This attachment is a real disappointment. Not worth the trouble.
