Wrong picture-not what I got Oct 06, 2011
By Cliff I had no idea what the model # of the tines I needed for my Mantis Tiller when I placed the order. I ordered based on the picture. What the picture shows is 4 tines (2 on each side). What I received is a set of 2 tines, period. I ended up going to a local repair shop and learned that what I needed was a set of left and right tines (just like the picture). I was in luck, they had just recieved a shipment, now I'm in busness and it's working find, but I got this unit that you sent and I don't want it, can't use and would like to send it back with a full refund. Tell me what to do. Mantis 6222-00-02 Furrower Tines Thank-you for listening
Work great - and easier to remove tangles than standard tines May 16, 2012

These do a good job for shallow trenching, say for installing drip irrigation lines. But I found them most helpful in digging planting holes in forest soil. When cutting though forest duff and leaf litter, the standard tines get tangled up with roots and pine needles which are very hard to remove. But, since the furrow tines have single tines on each side it is far easier to remove tangled roots, pine needles, and vines. The one drawback is that the tine retainer pins are more exposed with these single tines (they are recessed in the standard double tines) so they tend to get pulled out and bent up when tilling in very rooty soil. Some sort of hubcap to protect the pins would be very helpful. In the meantime I'm stocking up on spare retaining pins since they are fairly inexpensive.
Great addition to a great machine Apr 16, 2012
By William A. Edgemon The Furrower Tines work just described, in fact when used as directed, they work GREAT, nothing more needed. I use them every day in my garden.
