5Perfect protector for seedlings and young plants  Feb 08, 2008
By Jacqueline L. Bauman "Jackie"
This portable greenhouse is a breeze to put together, no screws, etc...and when the temperature outside is 45, inside the greenhouse it can soar to over 80. The zippered front flap allows you to open up to reduce temperature or close to increase. I start my heirloom tomatoes in this wonderful greenhouse every year. Couldn't do it without it.I love it!

4Great little greenhouse!  Jun 06, 2009
By K. Bauchelle "KatTheBaker"
Now, admittedly I have only had this for a few weeks, so can't give a more long-term opinion, but so far I've been really happy with this. I wanted the greenhouse as a place for seedlings once they had sprouted; more to keep them safe from marauding creatures than the weather, as I've had whole crops of seedlings disappear down to the bare earth overnight in the past! And so far, this has done a great job.

The greenhouse frame is, by design, quite lightweight, so I have put a couple of bricks and empty terracotta pots on the bottom shelf; so far this has kept it very sturdy. The shelves were also slightly rickety but we attached them firmly with plastic ties and they have been no problem at all.

For the price, this is great value for money and a good item.

ADDED FIVE MONTHS LATER: The greenhouse is still going strong! We've had plenty of hot weather, winds and rain, and things are still great.

3Flimsy and needs extra pieces  Jan 30, 2010
By S. Petersen
The Misco Greenhouse is "okay". We needed to add a support bar at the top (pointy part) and extended the bottom legs to keep the plastic from rubbing on the ground. It is not intended for heavy objects. We also added plastic sheets to the shelves in order to make it easier to keep clean. Time will tell how it survives the Florida heat.

5Nice kit for starting cold fragile plants.  Dec 02, 2009
By ChrisF
I found this mini greenhouse on sale for $19.95 and I'm more than pleased with what I got. At regular price it's great, for half that it's simply an incredible bargain.

15 minute assembly and it suits all types of potted plants just fine.

The shelf is very light, so you may want to stake it to the ground or use patio bricks on the bottom shelf. It will not take high winds and it's not designed for that anyway. It's a thin shelf covered in plastic, not a glass greenhouse. Weight it down and you'll be fine, or use it in an area out of direct wind.

If you're looking to get a few weeks head start on planting, this is the ticket. Even on a cooler day in the mid 40s you can expect this to hit 75-80 in full sun inside. As the temps rise outside, keep an eye on the temps in the greenhouse and vent by opening the flap as necessary. When you reach regular temps during the night, remove the plastic and use the shelves as storage or split them up for more plant space.

This is an excellent system for any Northern gardener wanting to get a head start.
