1Doesn't come close to 3750 square foot  Aug 24, 2010
By John
I bought this to replace two old Nelson oscillating sprinklers that died this year; there is no way this thing covers the 3750 square foot as advertised. Not even close! It went right back to Amazon. I tried some other non-Nelson brands and they didn't do any better; they went right back to their place of purchase as well. I'm on city water and my old Nelson's covered this area no problem, so it is not my water pressure. Perhaps they're all being made by the same manufacturer overseas, but the sprinklers that are on the market today are nothing but junk. I picked up a $7 "throwaway" model from ACE Hardware and it did a better job than any of these fancy models and it was only rated at 2800 square feet.

1Nelson's design change has reduced the quality of the sprinkler  Jul 13, 2011
By Frequent Purchaser
About a couple of years ago, I purchased the same Nelson Sprinkler from Walmart. It worked so great that my neighbor wanted to find the same item and I wanted to buy two more sprinklers, but Walmart did not carry the item any more. I found the same brand sprinkler (which was supposed to be identical) on the Amazon site. I immediately bought one and my neighbor also purchased one. Unfortunately, I found out that the manufacturer has re-designed the sprinkler. In order money, they have changed the base from steel to plastic and the gear mechanism apparenty has been re-designed as well. This design change has the result that the sprinkler does not oscillate as well as the older design unless the water pressure is turned on high. The precise/controlled continuous oscillation at lower water setting was the beauty of the machine that attracted us initially as it did an excellent job of watering small areas in the yard. I was disappointed by the new design and to lose it's great capability. I cannot understand why companies tinker with the product that is well designed in the first place and leave it as is.

5Best Sprinkler Ever  Apr 23, 2010
By Extropian
I can't tell you how much I love this sprinkler, but let me try. This is one of those adjustable sprinklers that doesn't require a degree is Engineering to adjust. It's very simple and straightforward. You have multiple spray patterns that include a super thin one, which is great, because I get tired of accidentally watering my neighbors lawn. If he wants his lawn to look nice, he needs to water it himself!

Not only can you control the pattern (from really wide to really thin) but you can also control how far it goes my adjusting these neat little clamp thingies. So when the spray hits my fence it can switch direction and spray back the other way. I now have 2 of these and I love them.

The metal is very sturdy, not flimsy like a lot of that plastic crap out there that will tip over when you turn on the water.

1Failed to Oscillate  Jun 26, 2010
By Jason E. Smith "Impatient Reader"
I imagined that investing in a more expensive sprinkler would help me avoid the many issues encountered with the $15 variety found at Lowes/Home Depot. Unfortunately, this expensive Nelson oscillated for only three minutes after I fired it up for the very first time. After that point, it simply would not move no matter how much I prodded it or turned the water on/off. I see another review which also reported an oscillation problem. It's going back to Amazon and I'm going to try a Dramm. Frustrating!

1pure garbage  Jun 26, 2011
By A. Malhotra
I just got this item yesterday and set it up today. All connections werereturn. perfect and turned on the water. Water came out from the yellow thingee you slide to change the width of the spray. Obviously a defect in the product and will put in for a refund. Come n Amazon, stop selling crap.
