Worked Great While It Lasted Oct 18, 2008

I would have given this product a 5 star review if it had lasted more than a few months. Initially it worked great just as advertised. It made recoiling the hose quick and easy. But, after just one summer of normal backyard usage I started to have problems with it. The spring that draws the hose back into the housing must have started to wear out because gradually more and more effort was required to guide and push the hose back into the housing. Also, it began to drip water from a leak inside the housing. In sum, I think this is a really great product design that is unfortunately cheaply manufactured in China.

Hose reel Mar 06, 2008

Too much clutter and too little space in my garage caused me to search for a solution. This Reel King hose reel works great and does not take up much space. In addition, it's much quicker to use than uncoiling a hose that gets wet and dirty and stiff in cold weather when trying to put it away. No excuse now for letting hoses freeze up in the winter or lie around and get run over by the car. Very convenient. Delivered on time as promised by Amazon. Well done!

By Joe Hawkins I have had this hose reel for about a year and a half,(I bought the first one from Sam's for $79.99 to try it and see if I liked it, but they quit carrying them). So I bought the second one from Amazon and had to pay a little more. It has performed well. The spring is still strong enough to retract the hose, although I suggest you turn off the water and purge the hose beforehand, it will rewind fully easier. I use it on my dock which is on salt water, and so if it holds up there very long, it should last twice as long elesewhere. I recommended it to a friend and he bought one, but it was defective and had to send it back. He didn't get his money back only a gift certificate from Amazon. He nor I liked that at all, so be warned about purchasing from Amazon.

Little difficult to figure out at first Sep 05, 2008

I bought this to replace my mothers old crank unit. Works fine, but she had difficulty understanding how to adjust the locking mechanism. It's not very clear in the instructions. Nonetheless, it does the job.

Reel King, RK-6000, Self Retracting Garden Hose Reel Aug 30, 2008

So far the best retracting hose reel yet. I have it for almost 2 months now. Very easy to use. My 2 other water powered hose reels have failed ( one the hose guide and the other very hard to pull the hose out). This one is spring loaded.
