Does work! Dec 25, 2005
By Ravi Venkatesh Having tried products with some slick advertising and literally burnt my fingers/split my skin etc., I was pleasantly surprised to see this one works. It went through the first thick branch a bit faster than I expected and I had to jump out of the way!
Only complaint - they could give a clearer picture of the chain mounting - the picture on the package is much better than the instructions.
Remember to tape your electric cord to the pole, else you will keep pulling it off the plug on the saw.

Finally-A tool that works as advertised! Jun 21, 2005

Used the saw today for the first time. Excellent cut and handling. Ease of use is very nice and really has powerful cut for such a small saw. Worth twice the price. Early yet to see how it holds up. Very safe if the instructions are followed.Saw chain and bar is readily available from Home Centers such as Lowes and H Depot.

GREAT !!! for the little time that it works Jul 08, 2009
By P. Bradley Avoid this product if you plan on using it for more than a couple hours. Remington went bankrupt and the new company doesn't honor their warranties. Also, the internal drive gears are plastic and will fail after a short period of time and can not be replaced. [...]

Internal gear broke after only 4 hours of use May 13, 2008
By Larry L. Hoffman If you want something that lasts and is repairable, you should avoid this model.
I used it to trim oak and fir branches well within the size limitations it was supposed to handle. I even religiously stopped, let it cool down, adjusted the chain tension and oiled it frequently. Nonetheless, after about only 4 hours of use, the chain started 'slipping' as if some sort of clutch mechanism was not engaging. After contacting Remington, I was told the problem (a stripped gear) is internal and not repairable. Then the person clarified his statement saying it's less expensive to replace than repair it.
So, if you plan to do anything more than lightweight pruning, this product may disappoint you.

Has met all my needs Nov 02, 2006

I was concerned about using the weight and the Remington Branch Wizard being top heavy. More concerned when I had to assemble it. The directions were easy to follow. Then fear set in about using an electrical appliance being a female, senior citizen. Results: I love the branch wizard. No need for a ladder, a saw with lots of effort, and a pruner with lots of effort. The cutting up of the cut branches was easy using the Black and Decker Alligator. I accomplished in 2 mornings what would have taken me 2 weeks without them. So far, no problems.
