 Much better than the one that came with your fryer Nov 30, 2008

After only a few uses, the standard thermometer that came with my fryer became inaccurate. This remote thermometer is very accurate--to the degree--and easy to use. You can set high/low alarms and has count down or count up timers.
The cons are that it is slippery and easy to drop. The on/off toggle switch on mine could not be slid to on using my fingers and I had to resort to using a pin to push it from the base of the switch.

Very happy with the order and delivery of item. Will test on X-MAS for first time. More to come. Thermostat, so far, out of the box looks promising. Definitely like the fact that the remote receiver displays the current oil temperature. Some models don't have that feature.
Dec. 31, 2009. Used for the first time on Christmas. Awesome. This is the thermometer you want to use when weather is nasty. Nice to monitor oil temp when you are indoors and not constantly having to go outside. Worked like a charm. Easy to use and if it holds up, I will buy another one. I also bought standard thermostat as a backup from Lowes in case I ever have need one.

I bought this item about two years ago and still works good. Clear display accurate reading great for cooking out doors while keeping yourself worm indoors.
