Great Grates Sep 12, 2010
By Thomas R. Odell
"Tom O."
Just letting people know that these grates are actually 14 7/8" by 11 1/8" each. The dimensions listed in the specifications are actually the size of the box.

Best Grill by far for 2 burner Weber May 18, 2010
By Frank T. Steele BEWARE!! The picture on Amazon is not the actual product picture. These are the best grill by far for any Weber 2 burner Grill (Spirit 500, Genesis Silver A etc..). Waaaaay better than the porcelain coated grill and even MUCH better than the Stainless Grill. Mind you, you do have to read the instructions and take care of the grill by seasoning it regularly. If you season it properly you will never get rust and food won't stick.

Better than the "stock" grate. But pricey Jan 11, 2012
By Richard Duffy I'm no expert on grills or grates. But I love my grilled chicken thighs and my grilled Porterhouse steaks.
And even to a simpleton like me, it's obvious that this grate is better than the one that came with the grill. And I thought *that* one was pretty good.
And it was "pretty good". This one is better.
The "original equipment" grate was some kind of pressed or stamped metal. A reasonably thick sheet of iron had been stamped into a form. And it worked reasonably well. For six or seven years. Until it rusted away.
And the "original equipment" grate did an OK job. It even left a "grilling mark" ... maybe two. Maybe three. I remember seeing at least that many. They were hard to see. But they were there.
But this grate is a solid piece of steel. It's easily three times the weight. And, that's a good thing. When I pre-heat this grate, it sucks up the heat ... and sucks it up ... and it sucks it up. And when I lay a piece of meat on the grate ... the grate *sears* the meat, leaving deep, bold, nasty-looking scars on it.
The fact is that the old grate tried to do this too. But, because it was comparatively flimsy ... it would *begin* to sear the meat ... but would quickly be drained of its heat ... and settle down to a temperature that wouldn't leave grill marks on a baby's behind.
Mass matters. It's the reason why you have to spend extra bucks on frying pans with thick, solid bottoms.
Blah blah blah. It's a better grate.
But it is pricey. Because of the cost, I can't quite bring myself to give it 5 stars -- which, in many ways, it deserves. And I'm also withholding that fifth star because it is really the perfect grate for the grill.
Huh? Why is that a problem, you ask?
It's a problem -- a deficiency -- because I have to ask myself why Weber didn't put this grate on the grill in the first place. They knew it was the right grate. But they also (I guess) knew I'd buy the grill with the crappy grate. And they knew that I'd come back and give them more money ... once the Original Equipment grate rusted out.

Love These Mar 26, 2011
By M. Dana I bought these to replace the cheap ones that came with my Weber E-210 grill and they are worth the upgrade, very heavy duty and durable and easy to clean.

Love these grates!!! Apr 30, 2010
By altadog I purchased my Weber about a year ago and read up on cooking grates. After all the research people recommended swapping out the original thinner grates with these heavier duty grates. 1) Holds the heat better 2) Very solid, thick and sturdy 3) last longer
I haven't looked back. These perform grates and would do it again if I ever upgrade my Weber
